Unedited. One take. It's a wrap of my daily photo project. To be specific, second full 365 day project, 778 daily shots in a row total.
Why stop ? Time primarily, I still hope to take tons of shots in 2012, but I hope to take the time with my subjects and up the quality control.
For all those finishing their daily projects or in the middle of a long run, enjoy, have fun and learn lots, be inspired and inspire other photographers. See you in 2012.
Happy new year everyone.
Remote flash (to the right) triggered in "commander mode", pop-up set to zero, manual exposure 200th sec, F6.3 w/ 35mm f1.8 lens.
This blog was originally started Nov 11th, 2009 for a project called 365 in-Camera. After year 1, the blog was changed to a daily photo site continuing until Dec 2011 (778 shots). After a year off, a daily photo begins again Jan 1, 2013. All photographs on this web site are protected by Creative Common licensing and cannot be used for commercial purposes without permission.

Snow blind
I did wonder if this would stir some debate on street photography ethics - for me, there's a story here.

I've spent thousands of dollars on my home theatre setup (incl. being an early adopter of HD TV), but it's something I enjoy almost every day. Command central / Harmony remote in the foreground, Bladerunner on BluRay in bokeh in the background.

Danny at Fickle
I passed by this Viet Chinese Cuisine Restaurant on Yonge St. yesterday and today, decided to pop in and ask for a photo of the beautiful interior. Danny was very accommodating and posed in the shot for me. I left and walked about a block and realized I'd forgotten my lens cap. Just then my phone rang and it was Danny telling me I'd forgotten my lens caps (I had left my business card for him) - what a gentleman, thanks Danny.

I'm lucky enough to work in the software industry where it's common employees in the field get company issued smartphones. I was a loyal Blackberry user and only changed to this iPhone4 because of Blackberry and wireless provider specific reception problems in my office.
I've been really happy with my iPhone4 and happy so say I don't need anything more from my smartphone. Funnily enough, the day I took this I learnt my company is possibly switching wireless providers and I may end up with an iPhone4s.

Sure I'd love a new D700, and the upcoming D800 I just a pipe dream; but my trusty D80 is a fantastic camera and my 18-200mm lens packs in a lots of versatility for the ride.

Songs of the preacher man
I've seen and heard this guy preaching at the corner of Yonge and Dundas for months. His amplified religious street lectures have for the most part been downright annoying and I've been wishing he'd move on and give up the corner to more entertaining street personalities. But today, as I was leaving the office, I heard some rapping blues lyrics as I approached the corner and low and behold it's the Bible blasting bloke. But I have to say, hearing the word of the lord sung out in some pretty catchy blue stomping prose was much more pleasant than his earlier work.

Trish
Via Flickr:
I noticed Trish as she was waiting for her 20 minute exposure on her Cambo SC 4x5 camera. She's a photography student at Ryerson and studying some exotic film processing and printing techniques. I thought I'd crop the shot to 4x5.

Snow in curved space
Via Flickr:
First snow of the season today. I tried to hunt out some dark background to highlight the flakes, but the angle on this office tower was a little odd. I tried to correct using Photoshop's correct camera distortion filter (vert. and horiz.) but couldn't get it right, so I decided to go the other way and distort with the pincushion setting in the same filter.
